Do electric folk dream of opium sheep? Little is known about the
Singleman Affair to Poptones.co.uk except for the musical influences
denoted on his website, proudly stating Fred Neil, Skip Spence and John
Martyn. And fuck it .. we signed it anyways. Because you don’t need
much knowledge to know about perfect songs.

The Singleman Affair captures the lo-fi fidelity of weirded out Beta
Band tracks with the iconic urgency of a young Paul Simon and when it
leads off to a whistling solo over slight drones and gently picked
acoustic guitars. Yes, there are sitars, tambourines and all the
retro-trappings of a time-gone-by, but fuck me, the songs are
nigh-perfect. Go and do yourself a favour and check it out. Expect a
Poptones release of their debut album ‘Lets Kill The Summer’out now and to be followed by a single on the 2nd of October of ‘Oh To Say/Leaving a Mark’.
