Anyone who witnessed ‘Cherrystones’ highly anticipated DJ set at the last ‘Electric Mud’ party will agree that, as a disc jockey, Gareth Goddard is virtually untouchable. How many tracks did the most dedicated beat-diggers in attendance recognize??? one?

Record collectors / DJ’s of ‘Godsy’s’ stature are often criticized of playing-their-cards-close-to-their-chests but even when Cherrystones victoriously shouts full-house - which he frequently does (see the ‘Cherrystones Rocks’ and ‘Hidden Charms’ compilations) - you can be sure he’s got another card wedged up every sleeve and a fresh pack in reserve for the next game. And this time he’s holding a good hand.
THE NAMES ON THIS DJ MIX HAVE BEEN CHANGED (OR UNDISCLOSED) TO PROTECT THE INNOCENT DJ. If it was up to any of the five major labels and their pet lizards the retro music loving majority would probably never of heard most of these songs, which is why mixes like this are forced into a meagre existence of promo-only anomalies by love-labourers for diminishing returns. The indelible influence of mixtapes and sampling on all forms of popular music is undeniable and with maverick musical librarians like Cherrystones & friends at the helm the culture is enjoying a fresh hiatus unifying a wide range of disparate cultural genres nurturing a deserved, discerning and open minded audience.

Basically if you’re remotely interested in Krautrock, Glam, Freekbeat, Library Music, Funk and Prog (not forgetting Hip-hop - It is a mixtape CD) then its time to stand up and be counted - ‘Crawl Back To Mine’ should be coming home with you.
