Barberella Soundtrack Barberella, psychedelia... How could we not love this derangement into easy listening weirdness?  Indeed!

Primal Scream - Gentle Tuesday - Before the Primals were hard-core sound terrorists, they were the tuff Byrds beat group of yesteryear.  Poptones.co.uk found this 7’ in amongst the indie but really shouldn’t there be a section for utter class?

Residual Echoes - Phoenician Flu and Ancient Ocean- Wyrd rockers from Santa Cruz.  If the first track of Death Comes for The Archbishop doesn’t slay you with its Flaming-Lips-with-a-bad-agressive-speed-problem doesn’t slay you then fuck knows what will.  To read moreabout Holy Mountain please click here.

Trashmonk - Mona Lisa Overdrive. Yeah, we released it already.  But putting some tracks up on the MP3 blog made me reinvestigate this and you know what?  Its a classic album.  And we’ve got it up for a fiver in our shop.

Oxes EP - Fuck me.  How did this one fall through the radar in the UK?  An instrumental band that doesn’t say ‘Hey I’m post rock howsabout you’.  With big fuck-off huge monster riffs that are time-warped back from when Kiss ruled and punk rock was in its infancy this is nothing but ROCK-AND-FUCKING-ROLL.  For more information about the Oxes please go here.

Whilst we wait for the new mix ‘Crawl Back To Mine’, Cherrystones is offering a ten minute cut of Entertaining the Unobvious.  And its a good ‘un.  But is it as good as the forthcoming Poptones compilation?  You’ll just have to wait and see. Jackie O Motherfucker - Various Tracks - They are the drone kings.  Whilst listening to their new album on All Tomorrow’s Parties, I fell asleep and awoke to a weird bad-acid-trip world ... where I’m soon to recover?
